Arab Bank sponsors the Eighth International Scientific Accounting Conference

Arab Bank to sponsor the Eighth International Scientific Accounting Conference which will be organized by the Jordanian Society of Chartered Accountants, and will take place between the 18 and 19 of October, 2008 at the Amman Grand Hyatt Hotel.

The Conference, which title is “small and medium-sized enterprises between accounting, auditing and economic role” will be inaugurated under the patronage of Prime Minister Nader Al Dahabi and in the presence of a large number of heads of professional organizations in the Arab world and members of the General Federation of Accountants and Arab auditors, who will hold a meeting for his board of directors in Amman during the conference.

The Arab bank sponsors this event in order to encourage the professional conferences as well as the research and the accounting and auditing studies in Jordan and abroad. Arab Bank considers the scientific accounting conference as a recognized event as it provides an opportunity for participants to identify key issues and accounting issues that require solutions and practical applications in addition to being a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and views with specialists in accounting.

The small and medium-sized enterprises form important economic units in the national economy because it contributes to enhance the added value of the national income and diversifies its sources and reduces unemployment and provides social security.

Those who set the international standards for the financial reporting called for the development of special international standards for the financial reports that suits the needs of the financial reports for small and medium-sized enterprises in view of the substantial contribution of such enterprises in the economic activity.

The conference will cover several areas. The most important area is the economic dimension and the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in business activities and the economic growth in addition to the accounting dimension, and accounting of the small-and medium-sized enterprises. The third area of the conference is the auditing dimension and the considerations and the special procedures that should be followed in auditing the small-and medium-sized enterprises.

Participants in the conference are professional researchers, experts from Jordan and the Arab world and academics from the universities of Jordan and Arab countries. The conference will mark the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Jordanian Society of Chartered Accountants and will honor researchers and pioneers of the profession.
